Salmon and Prawn Pie

Fish pie is super tasty and easy to make, it’s not incredibly fussy and is perfect with a salad on a summer evening. I used salmon and prawns because they’re my favourite, but you could also use tuna.

£1.14     30 mins     Serves 2

All you need is

  • 1 salmon fillet
  • 50g prawns
  • 150g frozen vegetables
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 50ml milk
  • 50g grated cheddar
  • 50g potatoes
  • Pinch salt and pepper

To make it just

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 190°C/170°C Fan/Gas Mark 5.
  2. Bring a pan of water to boil, chop potatoes with skin on into small pieces and add to the water. Leave to boil until soft, should take around 15 minutes.
  3. Chop the salmon and place into a pie dish, add the prawns and vegetables.
  4. In a pan melt butter, mix in flour and slowly add the milk. Mix in half the grated cheese and pour on top of the fish and vegetables.
  5. Once the potatoes are soft, drain and mash down, mix in salt and pepper then pile on top of the salmon and vegetables. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and place in the oven for 10 minutes.
